Ugogurl.com, provides a medium to showcase African American travel writing in addition to a network for sharing advice on travel, travel writing and journalistic opportunities. The site is chockfull of fantastic resource links to the African American travel world with website connections to travel websites, travel clubs, lodging as well as women's’ travel sites and travel literary sites.

There is a "frequently asked questions" section that addresses common queries, such as solo travel, travel in Paris, Egypt, Hawaii, San Francisco/Bay Area and Elaine's favorite places.

I launched Ugogurl.com in 1996 to serve as the cyber home for my book, "Go Girl". Since then, it has expanded to become “resource central” for African American travelers and travel writers.

It is my hope that this website will enlighten, inspire and empower beginning travelers/travel writers, support and encourage experienced travelers/travel writers as well as assist the travel media community in locating information, services and talent.

In 2011, American Airline’s Blackatlas.com  launched a video on the Caribbean island of St. Martin/Sint Marteen featuring Elaine Lee in her debut appearance as guest host. The segment also includes her companion travelblog/guide.
