/r/science is for recent scientific research, science news and discoveries, reviews, or critical responses to studies. All content should be within the past 6 (or so) months.

Submitted content should be a direct link to: the study itself, the researchers' or universities' summary, a peer-reviewed article or a direct summary (e.g., BBC, physorg, sciencedaily) of the research. Summaries of summaries are not allowed.

Submitted content should include links to the research (e.g., direct link to author, journal or DOI). If one is not provided in the article, submitters are encouraged to include links to the original, peer reviewed sources in the comments. This allows interested redditors with expertise to fact check the summary.

Biased material will be removed.

Sensationalized, editorialized or biased headlines will be politely requested to resubmit.

No blogspam, images or infographics.

Don't re-submit breaking stories that have already been submitted from different sources. If you have an alternative submission, please submit it as a comment to one of the current submissions.

Submissions on topics such as, science education, science policy, educational videos, will be considered by relevance and quality, but should go to more specialized subreddits.

If you feel your submission was mistakenly caught by the spam filter or removed, message the moderators. Please include a permalink to your submission.

If you feel a submission does not belong, use the report button.

Comment moderation is lax, but if a comment is factually inaccurate, hateful, offensive, spam or otherwise unacceptable, please use the report button.
