About me:

not a piece a meat is taking a stand against gender violence. this includes sexual violence against women and men, sexual harassment and bullying. we believe in bystander empowerment. we want to help people take a stand when they hear sexist or homophobic comments.

how can you support? SPEAK UP and SPEAK OUT!!! your words count! you can also sport a sticker on your car, bike, school folder, head- wherever to get the message out! we also provide free and confidential care to survivors of sexual violence and friends/family of sexual violence. we provide medical advocacy at local hospital or at our SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) facilty, legal advocacy with law enforcement and through the judical system, individual and group counseling.

.. who in the world came up with this idea? the folks at rape response with special help from Leigh Smith (supporter and friend!). here is a bit about rape response...we have a 24 hour hotline that you can call at 205.323.7273. we are a part of the crisis center, a united way of central alabama agency. we have a fabulous education team that can come to your school, business, church or organization to talk about what you can do to end gender violence and bullying.
