One of several models getting a refresh, the new Nokia N91 8GB is an evolutionary update made to the original N91 music phone that is meant to help keep pace with current trends and technology. The most obvious change made to the device is its new black color scheme, but the more important updates occur deeper within the device.
For starters, the internal hard disk that provides storage for music and other media files has been boosted to 8GB of capacity, a 100% increase over the original device's 4GB unit. The Bluetooth system has also been updated to add A2DP stereo support, so that the N91 can be used with the new wireless stereo headphones that are starting to trickle onto the market. The N91's size has remained the same, but its weight has risen by 5g, pushing it up to 165g total.
No word yet on pricing, but Nokia claims that the N91 8GB should be available for purchase during Q4 of 2006.
