Eidsness, Norna

Eidsness, Norna

Norna Eidsness of Calgary passed away peacefully in her sleep two days after her 73rd birthday following a mercifully short battle with brain cancer.

Norna’s greatest joy in life was her loving family. She cherished being a mother and grandmother and was fiercely devoted to family togetherness. She always lived life to the fullest and people were drawn to her because of her warmth, charm, honesty, and sense of humour. Her easy laughter will be missed by all who knew her. Outside of her family, Norna’s passions included travel, golf, bridge, bowling and creative crafts including sewing, needlecrafts, and ceramics. She had a rare and unique quality that made her special to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived and deeply loved by her children, Mark (Tressa) Eidsness, Bryce (Karen) Eidsness, and Patti-Ann (Michael) Marzocco; grandchildren Stephanie, Samantha, Kristine, Bradley, Steven, and Anthony, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother, Col. Thomas (Frances) Reader and two nieces, Kelly and Leslie, all of Kingston, Ontario. She was pre-deceased by her husband Maurice in 1979, and parents James and Lillian Reader of Regina, Saskatchewan in 1980.

A Celebration of her life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 215 – 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 1A2 Telephone: (403) 205-3966.
