Menlo Park Library and its
Belle Haven branch
are part of the Peninsula Library System, which includes libraries throughout San Mateo County. Come to your library and dream, explore, share!
The library is proud to support the Menlo Park City School District’s Life Skills and Culture initiative, which teaches students about a life skill each month by pairing the skill with a special book. Teachers share the books in the classroom and the library creates a display for the featured book, along with a booklist that supports the theme. We hope you will borrow the featured books as well as other titles that we recommend.
This month’s life skill is self discipline and the featured book is Teammates by Peter Golenbock: A moving story of how Jackie Robinson became the first black player on a major league baseball team and how on a fateful day in Cincinnati, PeeWee Reese took a stand and declared Jackie his teammate.
