The World Is Truly Magical

Like they always say, there are many ways to look at the world and one of them is this. MAGICAL

Found it on Pinterest. Don't know who to credit but credit to the person who took it and also to the person who probably Photoshopped and enhanced it. It looks amazing!

Gone Vegan

I've gone half vegan lately, this is my third day and here's something that I can tell you.

Vegetables can be tasty I am consistently hungry Toilet is my second home I dream of meat at night Meat Bacon Burger Cows Animals Anything that moves can be eaten!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, how is this even possible that I am even thinking of going vegan....OK , HALF vegan. I am like....sigh....so, during the day, it's been kinda of torturous. But here's one good thing about going vegan....I eat all the time and you know what? Veg can be yummy. ASK MY SON, he is a confirmed Meat Lover and he took one spoonful of veg and said, 'Mmmm....I never knew veg could be good. I have to say it tastes kinda good, mom'.

Kinda good. That's a start.

The Legend That Is Whitney

So....Whitney's dead, huh?

You know, it hurts so much that I don't really wanna talk about it. It feels like picking at a wound that you have that is hurting you bad but you've run out of ponstan.

But I'll say a few things about Whitney here. She's a gift to all of us. She is the kind of talent that was granted to us and her songs, her voice will never leave our hearts. She may leave the world, but she will never leave per se because she's left so much behind for us. Let's just continue to endlessly enjoy that.

And you know what hurts the most? That she led a publicly turbulent life as an entertainer (it's common when you are an entertainer) and as a person and some people made harsh criticism when she failed to pick herself up. They condemned her. Said bad things about her but then now that she's dead, they are backing their way out by saying nice things. Huh.

When you love someone like some people love Whitney for her talent, we cringe when there are bad news about her. We want to see her get up on her feet. We will her to come back to the entertainment world. We want her back We want to see her shine in all of her magnificence. We want to see her open up her arms, close her eyes and turn her head towards the sky when people applaud at the end of her performance. We want to hear the silence in the crowd when she sings. We want to hear the roar at the end of her singing and when she goes quiet. Well, it's quiet now.

She's not gonna get back up now. For real.

RIP, Whitney. Thank you for leaving behind a trail of legacy that will serve to whet our appetite for whatever's Whitney. You're a true legend.

Love,
Marsha

Disentangling The Cyber World

I have to get this out of my system – there’s ANOTHER social networking site that I have to learn up about? Aren’t we done with coming up with yet ANOTHER cool social networking site that we have COOLER features, BETTER control over what our friends see and read, more REALISTIC stats, etc?
We are not done yet?

What prompted this was the discovery of Pinterest…which I have, sadly so, requested an invite from. I have no idea why I requested for an invite but I guess it’s just my industry. I could say that it is a work thing that I have to learn about so that when experts talk about it, I don’t look dumb. I won’t use it….but maybe I will. I don’t know anymore. I’m lost in cyber world.

Anyway, here’s the lowdown or nutshell or whatever you want to call it about the whole online social networking thing.

Let’s start with my favorite one, the simplest one of all.

Twitter – This is where you talk to walls. When you are stressed out, you tweet. When you need to complain to a company and get them to listen, you tweet. When you hate your friend but want to be discreet about it, you tweet. When you are desperate for a sale, you tweet. When you are in the bathroom and are bored, you tweet.

You get the picture? Right. So, basically, with Twitter, anything goes. Except when you are a celebrity or someone important, then you have to be more careful about the things that you say there. It’s really addictive and crazy out there in Twitterverse.

Smiling Through Our Troubles

It's easy enough to be pleasant;
When life flows like a song,
But the man worthwhile,
Is the one who can smile,
When things go dead wrong,
For the test of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with the years,
And the smile that is worth,
The praises of earth,
Is the smile that shines through the tears.

i am not wearing my glasses

and i am gona try blogging without it. i'll find out how many mistakes i made later on when my glasses become available again. seriously, i cant see anything. nothing much.

my son locked me out of the bathroom, you see, and my glasses are in there.

this is funky. anyway, i just wanna say that i would like am so happy to see an old blogger friend come bacck to the online world. i missed her writings and her musigs. many of us bloggers, stop writing in our blogs because we go through the ups and downs of life. she was, i guess, going through one of her downs. i am glad she's back.

to me, i write in this blog not because i am famous or am a celebrity r think that people love the hell out of me but it is sort of something that i hang on to for sanity's sake. life takes a toll on me too and sometimes i don't want to write no nothing here because there is only bad things happening around me. but i continue anyway...for the sake of my sanity.

so, essentially, you can say that this blog is for me, to share it with youif you wanna read it, but it is, first and foremost, for me.

(how am i doing? am i making lots of errors? eff it)

i've been online since more than a decade ago  showing as many positive things to the people arund me as possible and by sharing the positive things, i dare say that i have reated a positive side of me that i can share and experience it with others. in return, i gegt a lot of positive things back too.

a win-win situation. so, yeah, i am done with this. gonna go get my glasses back. i can hear the door knob turning.

check back later. ithink the orange blob in front of me is the 'post' sign. leme try... where is the mouuse cursor?

LATER: Mmmm....not too shabby I would have to say. Anyway, welcome back, Winnie

Mindbump - Old or New Things

mindbump suggested by Altered Words

"Sheryl Crow sings that "It's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got." Do you derive happiness from shiny new things, or do you cherish the items you already own? Explain. "

Regarding the question above, I've come to a stalemate, really. I like the things that I have right now but I also like new things. But if I had to choose one, I would say I....

....hhhmmm.....

new things more. =)

Real Women Bellies

I am into health too, really...why would I not be when I am into yoga, right? DUH. But here's the one thing that I have against...unhealthy self image. Lord knows I have it too like...quite badly. =)

One of the body parts that women (and some men) are really conscious about is their bellies. No surprises there. You don't care about your butt or your legs but you BLOODY HELL care about your waistline, right? This is the result of the media assaulting your brain with model bodies.

The pictures and images are telling you this: YOU SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS. YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. YOUR BELLY IS NOT LIKE A WASHBOARD THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD WORK YOURSELF TILL YOU LOOK LIKE THIS! LIKE A STARVING SKELETON.

The rebel that I am tells them this: GO SHOVE IT UP YOUR ****flower words***** Shut up

In reality, women's bodies are like these. These are real women bellies. There is a story that goes along with every belly and we should all learn how to love the belly that we have, cute, ugly, lined, scarred, fat, wobbly...whatever. Don't let the media screw your mind over. Do it for yourself, not because you want to look like Angelina Jolie or Beck's wife. Because you know why? I bet they've got some fats sitting around in some surgeon's office waiting to be sold on eBay for whatever reason, eh? =)

THESE are real women bellies and they are proud of it. People, here's the link to XOJane's Real Women's Bellies Project.

If you can't handle reality, please don't click on the link. Consider yourself warned.

After all that drinking and eating...

I had a fab time last night at a relative's house and man, the drinks were really pouring in. We had an uncle who loves his drinks who wanted to go off early because he came early but then because he came early, he started on the drinks early so by the time we are starting, we were talking all sorts of BS (thanks to the alcohol - teehee), he had ENOUGH and was ready to go off.

So, he was basically standing up, sitting down, one more, last one, FOR SURE, stand up, sit down, yak yak, stand up, sit down, one more for the road, finish, stand up, sit down....for the loooooonnnggggeeeesssstttt time. You know what that is like, right? He had somewhere else to go after that but he ended up staying.

And by the time he was REALLY READY to go, he had the longest walk to the door. And then an even longer walk to the car. Not because of the distance but because he can't stop talking. Hahahaha....that is so funny!!

Tipsy is good but we are all very responsible people who won't let a man like that drive home. His daughter drove because the wife (who also participated) also had a jolly good time. =)

I detox on a regular basis but stop every Chinese New Year knowing that the activities during the festive season would be like this. But it has more or less officially come to an end. No more insane face-stuffing and drinking. Time to get back on the detoxing and yoga-ing.

So, a person's got to do what a person's got to do to get back on track, right? This time, I choose this.
