TwitterBar

TwitterBar is a browser add-on that allows users to post updates to Twitter from the address bar in their browser. To post to Twitter, the user needs only to type their message in the address bar and then type "--post". The Addon works for either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, and it has been downloaded over one million times.

As of version 2.9, TwitterBar users can post to different Twitter accounts without logging out of their current account. To do so, the user needs only to type "--@account_name" after typing their message, but before typing "--post." If the user does not specify an account, he is asked to choose from a list of authorized accounts.

Originally created by Tony Farndon, development of the sfotware was taken on by Finke to further develop the addon. Farndon has created a variety of other FireFox Addon's including Auto Dial 3D, Minimap Sidebar, and New Tab Preference.

Twitterbar provides a clean and simple way to update your Twitter status from inside of a web browser. The competing product Tweetbar allows users to both post new updates and view recent updates without having to use a separate application or visit Twitter directly. In many ways, Tweetbar could be considered a superior product and upgrade to Twitterbarhttp://mikedemers.net/projects/tweetbar/
