This would probably have made more sense to note at the time, but since it slipped my mind: this blog turned 10 years old on January 17th.
I suppose it goes back even further than that, really — I started publishing personal essays on the Web in various places back in, I think, 1996, though most of those have been lost, alas. But this blog opened its doors at this location on January 17, 2002, and everything I’ve written since then is stored in the archives.
Happy 1-0, blog! Enjoy it, it’s pretty much all downhill from there.
