Undergraduates looking to refine their writing skills and gain experience with having their work published in an academic journal have an opportunity to do so by submitting to the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Journal. The primary university-sponsored venue for scholarly work by undergraduates, the VURJ is currently accepting submissions from all areas of study for its eighth annual volume.

Commodores will rely on young talent for 2012 season
Coming off their first trip to the College World Series, the Vanderbilt Commodores are primed for the 2012 season. While many fans lament the loss of last year's talent, the future looks extremely bright for the baseball program. After his team set an Southeastern Conference record with 12 players selected in the MLB Draft, head coach Tim Corbin wasted no time rebuilding his program and selected the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to Baseball America.

Election 2012: The birth control mandate
President Obama Friday announced an accommodation from a birth control mandate for religiously affiliated healthcare providers, which will excuse organizations in opposition to the current ruling based on religious reasons from the mandate.
