Three months after its European debut, the 3G-enabled Nokia N90 smartphone goes on sale in the US; features include a 2 Megapixel camera with autofocus, hi-res screen and more.

Nokia today announced the availability of its N90 smartphone in the US through Ritz Camera, establishing one of the maker's shortest delays to date in bringing an advanced device from the European to the US market. Whereas bringing the Nokia 9300 Communicator to Cingular took nearly a full year, the N90 represents Nokia's intent to drastically shorten the amount of time required for such transitions. Other N series models, including the recently reviewed N70 and upcoming N91, are expected to follow suit.

Boasting an advanced set of features, the N90 focuses particularly on imaging with its 2 Megapixel resolution and auto focus courtesy of Carl Zeiss optics. In addition, the smartphone also harbours a high-resolution screen and the very latest version of Nokia's Series 60 platform including a broad series of PIM, messaging, productivity and multimedia applications.

Immediately available in the US, the Nokia N90 sells in the $700 USD range without subscription.
