Empire of the Iguanadons

Unless you live in a cave, as a PC gamer you're probably aware by now that the Skyrim Creation Kit has been out for a week. A ton of cool mods are beginning to surface. Most of which work perfectly fine. There's a few glitches cropping up, people are solving those easily enough. There does however exist one very major set of bugs that will all but cripple the Skyrim modding community if they are not addressed. After the break, we can get down and dirty. ( Continued... )

Well. I guess that's that then.

One more contest goes down tonight in Maine. Mitt Romney has taken away yet another victory, with Ron Paul coming in right behind him. Perhaps not terribly surprising, but it is necessary to note that Maine's results tonight are NOT binding. They don't pick their actual delegates for the convention until May. Personally I don't get why these states do stuff this way. It makes no sense. Anyway, for what they're worth, tonight's results with all precincts reported:

Mitt Romney - 39% (2,190 votes, 11 delegates)
Ron Paul - 36% (1,996 votes, 10 delegates)
Rick Santorum - 18% (989 votes)
Newt Gingrich - 6% (349)

Delegate Totals to Date

Mitt Romney: 90 delegates.
Newt Gingrich: 30 delegates.
Rick Santorum: 16 delegates.
Ron Paul: 17 delegates.

1,144 required to win.

Well. I guess that's that then.

Well, just two days ago I was more or less resigned to the inevitable victory Romney was rolling to. That victory just became substantially less inevitable tonight. The states of Minnesota and Missouri have handed resounding victories to Rick Santorum in their races, and it looks as though he may be about to win has won Colorado as well. A 3-fer from the guy who up until tonight has been lagging in 3rd place? Sometimes 4th place? Truly the 2012 Republican Primaries are a spectacle to behold. I'm beginning to wonder if we may in fact be heading to a brokered convention. Wouldn't that be a load of fun? So anyway, tonigh'ts results, after the jump. ( Continued... )

Well. I guess that's that then.

Another day, another caucus. Another win for Mitt Romney. Nevada delivered what we all pretty much expected to happen. Though they delivered it with a fraction of their over all voter base, as is typical with the caucus system. In the big picture, Nevada by itself is meaningless. It's the momentum that Romney is going to build from this and from contests in the next few days that is going to all but assure he wins the nomination. The writing is on the wall, barring another surprise result.

Nevada also seems to take its sweet ass time counting votes. Here we are almost 24 hours later in an age where information should flow like lightning and they're barely past 70% of precincts reporting in. So take this for what it's worth, the result isn't likely to change in the next 24 hours, but the delegate counts might.

Mitt Romney - 48% (11,822 votes, 10 delegates)
Newt Gingrich - 23% (5,623 votes, 4 delegates)
Ron Paul - 19% (4,619 votes, 3 delegates)
Rick Santorum - 11% (2,749 votes, 2 delegates)

Delegate Totals to Date

Mitt Romney: 79 delegates.
Newt Gingrich: 30 delegates.
Rick Santorum: 16 delegates.
Ron Paul: 7 delegates.

1,144 required to win.

Yes, be afraid, be very afraid, that Ron Paul made that much of a showing. Though, it is Nevada, maybe they don't know any better. On Tuesday, the first multi-state contest takes place with 128 total delegates at stake. Minnesota and Colorado hold caucuses, while Missouri holds a primary. Chances are this setup calls the nomination if Romney takes them all.
