You can add IRC or any other means in which to obtain copyright protected material, such as movies, music and software. Conversion of legal copies is fine but asking where to obtain "Star Wars" for example would be crossing the line.

Not allowed warez links, yet stickys all over the forum linking to and attached files for ringtones and wallpapers, can you please tell me what the difference is? They're both copyrighted and both illegal, to me that seems a little hypocritical.

ringtones are legal if under 30 secs as far as i know and most wallpapers are not copyrighted unless specificly stated by the creator (this is only what i have read and heard but i am pretty sure its correct)

Thando, I run a ringtone company, so I know that's not true, it's illegal to use the ringtone unless you've purchased it, just like a CD, wallpapers are the same as you're using copyrighted photos to make the wallpaper.
However, I'm not against it, It just seemed kind of ironic that warez are illegal yet ringtones/wallpapers are fine. Most of the wallpapers and ringtones are purchased from official sites, and then shared, I see no difference between that and software.

What is legal and not legal for hofoers depend on where they are/live. That sort of makes it hard to create a list of "legal" sites as proposed earlier in this thread. (I know this thread is old, I'm just bored)
