The hula hoop is spinning it’s way back into the public eye in Croatia thanks to husband and wife team Kristijan “Kiki” Kardum and Eva Požar Kardum. It was Eva who first took to the stage of Super Talent in 2010, only to have Kristijan follow in her footsteps. Currently the happy hooping couple are teaching “Hula Hoop Aerobics” workshops at Zagreb Velesajam in their hometown of Zagreb, Croatia. Dalje reports that an association called “Sretniâ€, which is Croatian for “Happy”, is organizing the events and the Kardums are presenting the only class of its kind in the country. The workshops are primarily attended by women who come to do exercise and stay “because it turns out to be laughing therapy also”. Student Brankica Kopcalic explained, “It’s like psychotherapy to me. We laugh a lot and I sometimes stay here for hours. When I first came here I wasn’t able to keep the hoop up. I thought I would never learn how to spin it around.
