Joy and Excitement! – Birmingham Alabama High School Senior Photographer

Posted on February 17, 2012

I meet the most amazing teens in my job! When her mom contacted for senior portraits she shared with me how talented her daughter is!! She is an incredible pianist AND an artist! We were trying to come up with a great place with a grand piano to showcase her talent, and we decided on the Tutwiler Hotel downtown! I was so excited for this session and spent days pouring over senior portraits to best showcase her talent and beauty! What I wasn’t prepared for was how amazing this teen is in person! She is so full of joy and excitement. You can not help but be excited for where God will be leading her in the coming years! Her smile is contagious and hearing her plans for her future make you want to get to know her more! This young lady is going places!!

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!  Philippians 4:4

When looking fora scripture that reminded me of this amazing young woman, I found the one above! She is for sure full of joy from the Lord! I was also drawn to the verse below! She is about to start on an incredible journey in the coming years and I can’t think of better verses that could describe her future!

Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:1-3

Spring Mini Sessions! – Birmingham Alabama Child and Family Photographer

Posted on February 6, 2012

I am on a blogging roll. Gold star for me!! ha! With our lovely weather lately, you would think spring has been here for two months and winter never happened!  I think the flowers are trees and very confused! I am still holding out for some kind of snow this year but it isn’t looking good! In the meantime, many of you have been asking for Spring mini sessions! We only offer mini sessions twice a year so now is the time to book for a great deal with a disk of your images with a print release. This is PERFECT for Mother’s day gifts (Father’s day too!). You can be the hero and let me do all the work!

His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring,
with plants springing up everywhere. Isaiah 61:11

I have lots of plans for our spring mini sessions! I am not usually one to bring a ton of props for a session. I usually have a couple things I use for each session but this time for the mini sessions, I have several surprises up my sleeve.  : ) You will just have to wait and see!!  We will be offering two dates, one with a more casual country theme and the second with a springy traditional theme. Two quick pictures from today!! I spent my day with two good friends and their little girls at a princess dress up party! The girls had a great time! I talked my friends into driving over to Aldridge Gardens for a mini photo session showing off the hair and make up! I took WAY too many pictures and plan to edit them all before the end of the year (ha!). But I just couldn’t resist editing two of my favorites!

Beautiful Couple, Laid back, FUN! – Birmingham Alabama Engagement Photographer

Posted on February 5, 2012

I know my blog has been a sad lonely place. : ) We are still here…. enjoying our “slow” season with our family. I think of the blog often but I have been in a season putting my family first, catching up on home projects, and finishing up wedding albums. Cory and I will be announcing many changes in the coming weeks. All good things but we aren’t ready to share more. (How is that for suspense???). I hope to blog more, but no promises. But enough of that… on with the show!

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

This couple just won my heart! They are so head over heels in love with each other. I enjoyed so much spending the morning with them yesterday. I love how they look at each other. I love how easy conversation flowed between the two of them. He knows just how to make her laugh and she shines whenever he kisses her. I didn’t have to direct them too much, they just naturally fell into the perfect portrait! At the end of this month, the groom to be will be going off to boot camp to become a brave Marine. During that time, until right before their May wedding, they will only be able to communicate via letters. It sounds very romantic but I know it will be very hard on them both. The next few months has many exciting changes for them both and it will end at an amazing wedding at the church where they met and a casual FUN reception at a barn in Tuscaloosa! I know they are both counting the days!! I am so blessed to get to know them both before he leaves for boot camp and I can not wait to see them back together again in May!!
