The Fitwits program offers an innovative way to combat childhood obesity by making it entertaining for children to learn about healthy eating habits. A key component involves using colorful flashcards. This year the Fitwits model is being piloted in restaurants throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The Heinz Endowments annually employs recent high school graduates as summer youth philanthropy interns. As part of the program this year, interns organized a philanthropy fair, bottom, to present their areas of interest to the community.
