Cloud Management

[image]DMTF's Cloud Management Working Group has developed the Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) work-in-progress specifications to help improve cloud management interoperability.  

Conformance Programs

[image]DMTF conformance programs allow vendors to test products for conformance to DMTF specifications. Both DASH and CDM conformance programs are currently available. Conformant products are listed in the DMTF Certification Registry.

DMTF recently appointed Jeff Wheeler from Huawei as DMTF’s first VP of Education. The role was created in response to feedback from members confirming education as a major organizational goal. In particular, the new role will ensure a wider effort in creating and presenting instructional engineering-level materials and delivering a deeper understanding of CIM-related benefits to members.

2011 has been another great year for DMTF. We have produced many new specifications, over a dozen new profiles and four major new releases of CIM.  Our work in the Cloud Computing space is really kicking into to gear with several Work-In-Progress (WIP) releases of our new Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) specification, along with the first whitepaper also released as a WIP from the Software License Management Incubator. In addition, the Cloud Auditing Data Federation Working Group (CADFWG) has been hard at work and we should see some of their new specifications announced in early 2012.
