It’s Not the 4th of July, It’s Independence Day

235 years ago today, 56 men laid their lives on the line in a stand against tyranny and a quest for liberty as they wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence.

Justice Served, At Last

Osama bin Laden is dead.

“Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Usama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda.â€
– President Obama

“This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.”
– President George W. Bush

A heartfelt thanks goes out to our military for securing justice for the victims of the 9/11/01 attacks, the USS Cole bombing, and the US Embassy bombings in Africa.

To all of our fighting men and women in uniform: America salutes you tonight! May God bless you and keep you safe.

Response to a Tragedy

“We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.â€

–Ronald Reagan

Heartfelt prayers go out to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and family, the family of Judge John Roll, the family of Christina Taylor Green, the family of Dorwin Stoddard, the family of Dorothy Murray, and the family of Dorothy Schneck.

Also remember Gabe Zimmerman, Ron Barber, and Pam Simon in your prayers.

Send your condolences
Shield and support the mourning families

“Green Jobs” Defined

Of the many TV commercials aired during yesterday’s Super Bowl broadcast, the “Green Police” ad for Audi sparked some tongue-in-cheek controversy:

Can it happen here? In some ways, it is already happening, albeit not to the extreme where hardcore environmentalists are pushing for “eco-crimes” to be fall under criminal prosecution.

What do you think?

Senator Scott Brown

It is official: The “Kennedy seat” is once again (and rightfully so) the people’s seat:

Congratulations, Senator! Work hard and serve your constituents well.

Fear and Loathing of Las Vegas, Continued

President Obama seems to be quite content to bet other people’s money on a game of Keynesian Craps, but he just couldn’t resist taking another swipe at the city that I (and of course, a multitude of those who campaigned and voted for him in droves) call home:

“When times are tough, you tighten your belts,” The Hill quoted Obama saying today at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire.” You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save for college.”

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he spoke to the White House following Obama’s comments.

“While the President is correct that people saving for college need to be fiscally responsible, the President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn’t be spending their money,” Reid said in a statement.

Other state and local politicians aren’t too happy with the Gambler-In-Chief’s snide remarks either.

This time, because of Harry Reid’s response (mainly in part that he’s dependent upon the President’s assistance in the re-election battle of his life), Obama issued a tepid explanation.

Maybe Obama should start making amends by tightening his own damn belt and spending more time thinking about the effect his careless words may have on the Nevada economy. Failure to do so may result in three congressional Democrats finding themselves in the unemployment lines with their fellow down-and-out Las Vegans after November.

I Don’t Know About You, But…

I’ve grown tired of the groveling.

We get it. You’re an ideologue who thinks he isn’t one. You say you know what the people want, yet you ignore the voices of the people. You’re angry at the judicial branch for scuttling a restrictive campaign law that you yourself chose not to follow. And now, you say you want to control spending and whittle down the deficit by proposing an outlandish budget plan with more tax hikes and even more spending.

We’re stuck with you for the next three years. We get that. We’ll cope until your term ends.

But, for God’s sake man, stop with the groveling already. It makes you look weak.

A head of state bows to NO ONE.

If you can work on nailing down that precision commander-in-chief salute, you can also work greeting others without losing control of your spine.

Oh, and learn to speak extemporaneously too, lest you be accused of being a puppet.

ACORN: PWNED!

Since the other networks were busy falling prostrate before Barack Almighty, I watched Fox News Sunday instead. As you can see below, ACORN’s Bertha Lewis really didn’t want to talk about it:

Why watch the same old sales pitch on five different channels when you can watch something new and informative?

Interview of the Week

Talk radio host Mark Levin recently interviewed ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on the issues of liberty vs. tyranny. Whether you lean left or right, this is worth listening to.

ACORN Corruption In San Diego

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles strike California gold again with their fifth video investigation of the ACORN offices in National City, CA.

If you’re looking for trendy boutique hotels, an exploding culinary scene, or visiting the local ACORN to get your underage prostitutes smuggled across the Mexican border, you’re in the right place.

And find it they did:

In response to the videos, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has called for an investigation of ACORN’s activities statewide. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has also directed his state government to halt all funding to ACORN.

On the federal level, the U.S. Senate voted 83-7 to cut off funding of the ACORN housing program. Seven senators have a lot of explaining to do.

O’Keefe and Giles are to be commended for doing the hard work that the mainstream media refuses to do.

Dissent is the Highest Form of…

…RACISM?!?

Statists have lost their damn minds!

Maureen Dowd:

The normally nonchalant Barack Obama looked nonplussed, as Nancy Pelosi glowered behind.

Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!†at a president who didn’t.

But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!

Jimmy Carter:

Michael Eric Dyson:

I call B.S. on all three of them.

President Obama is not under fire for being black. He is under fire for his policies and how he is governing the country. Race has absolutely NOTHING to do with opposing the President’s worldview that America is evil and must be weakened in order to appease the rest of world, nor questioning his warped belief that a bigger, overfunded federal government will solve all of our domestic and economic problems.

Barack Obama could have been born white (he’s biracial, BTW), brown, red, yellow, olive, or plaid — and he would still be rightfully judged not by his skin color, but by his words and deeds. As a black man, I’m appalled that those on the left would rush to play the race card in defending a head of state who was elected by his peers not because of his race, but because of the promises made to usher in a “post-racial” era of politics and leadership.

Enough with playing the race card already. We’re ALL Americans — and the President is accountable to all of us, regardless of complexion.

California ACORN Chapter Exposed, Part II

There’s more video of ACORN corruption caught on tape from San Bernardino:

And for “just playing along”, Tresa Kalke must be one hell of a method actress:

Meanwhile (with the exception of Fox News Channel), the mainstream media outlets are busy seeing, speaking, and hearing no evil from ACORN.

ACORN is making futile attempts to cover their tracks and threatening to shoot the messengers via lawsuit threats.

There’s now video of an undercover visit to an ACORN office in San Diego being aired on FNC. We ain’t seen nothing yet, folks!

California ACORN Chapter Exposed (Updated)

James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles take their exposé westward to my old neighborhood of San Bernardino, CA. Here’s Part I of the shocking undercover footage:

To my California readers (especially those in the Inland Empire): Get on the phone, contact the local papers, and start holding the names named accountable. There’s more to come.

Update: The San Bernardino Sun does a write-up including a response from one of the mentioned politicians. ACORN’s chief organizer for California quickly put a different spin on the video, dismissing Giles and O’Keefe as “actors”.
