Hello!

17 Feb

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

I mentioned about going into a new chapter in life on my previous post right?

Well, it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve started working in my new workplace (how time flies!), and the verdict?

Like most new workplaces, it has its pros & cons.

Pros:

Lunch is provided each day at the office for free! The boss’ maid actually comes to the office and cooks for us, and her food is good! Also, I’ve had salmon for  quite a few times at the office now, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually kinda tired of eating salmon now! (And I used to NEVER get tired of eating salmon! @_@) Free parking! Gone are the days where I was always worried about getting my car scratched. Now, I just park at the car park nearest to my office window so I could keep an eye on it. No need to look at airline websites everyday and do comparisons on which airline is cheaper. It can be very frustrating, especially when the Internet line is down, or the airline website is down, or when we couldn’t get an answer from the boss immediately and had to check and compare again the next day. Allowance/incentives for staffs. We don’t have to just depend on our basic salary. Love this! :D Cool multifunction printer at the office. It is not only a photocopy machine, but it is also a printer and a fax machine! How cool is that? We sure didn’t have this at the old workplace! We can get wholesale price on food! Today I bought some grapes at a cheap price. They are oh-so sweet and fresh, too! Nice!

Cons (Yes there are some!):

Long working hours. This actually is my main complaint about my new workplace (as compared to my old one, that is). Here, they work a 5.5 day week, start at 8am and ends at 5.30pm (Saturday 1/2 day). When I was still working at my old place, I would wake up at 7.40am, get ready for work and leave at 8.15am. Then I’d put on my makeup AFTER having my breakfast. But now? I have to wake up at 6am (but always ended up snoozing my alarm clock until 6.15am -_-) get ready, put on makeup, and if I still have time, eat breakfast (if no time, then just eat biscuits at office, sigh). Leave the house at 7.20am, arrive office around 7.45am (depending on traffic). And I mentioned we finish work at 5.30pm right? But we cannot leave immediately at that time. I sure miss the old times when I used to arrive home from work no later than 5.20pm. Nowadays, I always arrive home around 6.15-ish pm. And by then I’d be so tired to cook dinner. Sigh. :( Traffic jam. To and from work. Urgh. Didn’t have to go through that before. I sure miss the care-free driving. No own room. No privacy! No receptionist. I actually hate picking up the phone, but what to do? Everybody have to pick up the phone at the office! That’s why people say.. don’t say hate, or you will end up getting it! No more time for zumba. Yup, since I always reach home after 6pm, I have to say byebye to zumba class. Guess it’s just zumba at home then.

But I sure welcome new challenge in life. Learning new things at the office and be away from my comfort zone.. I welcome them all. :)

1 Debt Cleared Today!

01 Feb

I just realised that one of my debts ends today! Yay!

That means I have more moolah to save up starting next month for our ‘still in construction’ condo!

Or better yet, maybe I could finally think about getting a new Casio keyboard, to replace the one my dad bought me AGES ago! A casio privia px-130 perhaps? It looks nice ;)

New Chapter In Life, Coming Soon

25 Jan

I forgot to ask the HR last week whether I have any leave for 2012. Had I known I have 1 day of leave, I would’ve certainly taken it today cuz I’m so exhausted right now!

But I’m thankful that I have Friday and the weekend off to fully rest before I embark on a new chapter in life, starting work in a new place!

Don’t take out the Rocky Patel just yet though, me resigning from my current work place is definitely bittersweet.. I won’t say my reasons for this here though, I’ll just keep it to myself.

I’m rambling. Think I’ll take a nap during my lunch hour.

Xin Nian Kuai Le!

25 Jan

How was your 2012 CNY holidays recently? Did you receive a lot of angpows?

As for me, I spent my holidays helping out at the hubby’s shop, from morning to night, on both nights! I blogged about it here. Go and read it ya!

And as compared to last year’s CNY, surprisingly I received more angpows this year! Must be our newlywed luck, eh? 6 months is still considered newlywed bah. ;)

WC and I also had our first experience of giving out angpows as a married couple too, especially to my boss’ (well, soon-to-be-ex boss) kids! They dropped by at the shop yesterday and said hi to me! :)

Speaking about the shop, it reminds me, I gotta buy some sort of storage lockers for them to properly store their stuffs (or other products) in, instead of just putting them on the floor. And a fan, too! Their centralised aircon at the shop still suck! Apa punya management, until now still haven’t done anything to it. >.<
