I am a Seattle native, avid traveler and founder of the news media company Newsvine. Approximately 18 months after the public launch of Newsvine.com, the startup was purchased by MSNBC Interactive News as the only acquisition ever carried out by America’s leading online news company, which is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC Universal (majority owned by GE). At present, I continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Newsvine.

I take great pride in supporting and participating in my local dive community by continuing to operate Northwest Dive Club, an organization I founded in 2005. Despite its rapid growth, the dive club has continued to be one of the most active and friendly destinations online for folks who share a common love for the sport of SCUBA diving. If you’re new to diving and/or the Pacific Northwest, please feel free to swing on by and introduce yourself.

This site has served several purposes over the years (currently in its third iteration), but is mostly a place where I can tell stories about my travels to over 50 countries (to date). I’ve ventured far from my hometown of Bellevue, WA – to six of the seven continents, where I’ve had both the fortune and misfortune of discovering how little I’ve actually seen of the world. Much of my travel and exploration currently revolves around diving and the equipment that makes underwater imaging possible, but you may find a stray article or two about other interests that capture my attention or imagination. Soon, I will be launching another web site that focuses solely on bringing my readers to the furthest corners of the known world through stunning imagery and words. Stay tuned….
