SwypeSwype, the popular keyboard replacement for Android devices has received a long-awaited update today. The latest version of the app now supports the latest version of Android – Ice Cream Sandwich, which means you can use Swype on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus (yes we know, there are unofficial versions of Swype out there that already support it). In addition to support for Android 4.0, accuracy has been improved, which should help your overall typing speed and help eliminate mistakes in your texts. Swype Add-ons is now a feature of the keyboard, with the first add-on being Dragon Go!

If you already have Swype on your phone or tablet, you should receive the notification to update. For those of you who don’t have Swype yet, just head over to the Swype Beta website, sign up and download the installer for your Android device.

ClikRemember the Vscreens.com app from Sony Ericsson that let you stream content from your phone to any internet-connected display? Well, the folks behind Kik, the cross-platform messenger, have come up with something similar called Clik. This time instead of you sharing your own content, Clik lets you control YouTube on your display through your phone. Select what videos to play, search, browser, start, stop, and add them to your favorites.

The best part is, you don’t need to launch anything other than the web browser on the display and your smartphone to start Clik, no additional hardware needed. All the video streaming is also done with your TV/computer so you don’t need to worry about wasting your mobile data with the app. Multiple users can also share the same screen to play and discover videos together, for a fun and interactive experience.

Sounds like a great app to pull out at parties, just as long as the host has an internet-connected display available for you to use. Clik is available as a free download from the Android Market and Apple App Store.

Earlier this week we heard reports about the PlayBook OS 2.0 update arriving on February 21st, and it looks like the rumor has turned out to be accurate. According to reports online, in a webcast about “Developing native games with the BlackBerry NDK 2.0″, RIM confirmed the release date of PlayBook OS 2.0. Well, assuming that everything goes well and there aren’t any problems with the rollout, we should see PlayBook OS 2.0 by next Tuesday. For those of you planning to pick up the BlackBerry PlayBook just because of the upcoming update, you should start shopping around for one by now.

PlayBook OS 2.0 is said to bring features such as native calendar, email, and contacts apps, support for Android apps, and the usual host of fixes and tweaks to the operating system. Who is excited about the upcoming update?

Just when you thought HTC had enough phones with the name “One”, here comes some new rumors about another HTC One phone. This time it’s the HTC One V, and it’s said to be “a music-focused Beats Audio device and will be the Yin to the HTC Rhyme’s Yang.” According to Pocket-lint’s report, the phone will pack a 3.7″ display, a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera capable of 720p recording and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

There was no mention if the phone would be single or dual-core but a single-core Android phone in this day and age seems unlikely (unless HTC is aiming for the entry-level market with this device). In addition to the One V, there’s apparently another HTC phone called the One XL, however, details about it are scarce at the moment and nothing is known besides its name. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see when and if these phones are unveiled at MWC 2012.

Acer Iconia Tab A510Acer’s latest tablet, the Iconia Tab A510, has just hit the FCC – and that is is more or less the gadget equivalent of the “Bat Signal” that a device is being prepared for a general release in the US. Of course, just because a device arrives at the FCC and receives its approval does not translate to automatic release on the market, but at least it is safe to compete for consumer dollars. While we talked about the Iconia Tab A500 getting Ice Cream Sandwich in April, here is the Iconia Tab A510 that is tipped to arrive in the market this…well, what do you know, April, too.

If the previously released trailer, video footage and reports about Max Payne 3 have you pumped up for the game, wait until you feast your eyes on the latest official trailer for the game. Fresh out of the ovens, the second trailer for Max Payne 3 reveals the storyline of the game, and gives us even more in-game footage to ogle over while we wait for its release later this year. While the storyline isn’t anything mind blowing, if it’s anything like the previous Max Payne games, there are bound to be some twists and should be an entertaining game regardless. I’m not going to say anymore about the trailer, but you can check it out yourself above. Max Payne 3 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 15th, while the PC version will arrive on May 29th.

Remember our story earlier this month that concerns a Facebook post which has earned over a million comments, achieving a new world record in the process? Well, since records were meant to be broken, here is an Australian man’s post on Facebook which has also surpassed the one million comments record – in under two weeks, no less, totalling more than 1,010,000 comments to date. Andrew Folling who hails from Brisbane, decided to post the words “Challenge Accepted?” while mentioning the (then) current world record on the number of comments on a Facebook post.

Granted, Folling’s post carries mostly nonsensical comments, where the majority comprises of random letters as well as phrases typed in. The previous world record was made in nearly three months. I do wonder when will the two million comment mark be breached – do you think it will happen in the next year?
