I’d been meaning to take this shot for about a week, the way the bush of purple flowers had suddenly bloomed and was reflecting in the pond in the morning sun – it’s why I love living so close to the park.
I only just made it, a couple of hours later the GBS ended and a summer of rain began.

Photos taken in/around Monument in London, weak photo… we found this funny as there is the weak subway sign and down the street is a sunway sandwich place. Easily amused we are.

The Worcestershire Beacon (1394ft) commands one of the most spectacular views in England. On a clear day, it’s possible to see 15 English and Welsh counties.

Had to get up early to take this shot (taken at 08:30 GMT on a cold winter’s morning), as it takes me an hour to walk up there.

The monument was erected to commemorate Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee in 1897.
