TermiSoc is the Plymouth University Computing and Technology Society (fo rmerly the Computing Society). Established in 1991 we’re one of the longest running societies and can offer a range of facilities to our members – see our services page for details.
What We Do
We run weekly tutorials in the Babbage Building on a wide range of computing subjects. Previous tutorials have included introductions to programming, 3D modeling, game design, computer hardware and operating systems among many other topics. Check out our calendar for upcoming events.
As well as that, we have many, many socials, from trips down the pub, to bowling, to pool competitions at Rileys, as well as regular expeditions to the cinema and not-so-regular expeditions to, say, London and the Oxford Science Museum. Again, check out the calendar for upcoming events – this term we’ve got weekly socials planned and the usual trip to the pub after Monday tutorials. Come along – you won’t regret it, and there may be pizza.
We hold the occasional special event, including LAN parties; we also try and organize groups to visit interesting places around the country. This year we aim to head off to Bletchley Park and the Maker Faire.
We also have links with the Exeter Hackerspace, from which people will come down occasionally to give presentations and tutorials about various topics.
If you would like to join Termisoc check out the Join page. If you have any questions feel free to drop one of the exec an email.
