browser

A browser is someone who is looking around in a store that may or may not want to be bothered by a salesperson yet. But a web browser is a whole different ball game. A web browser is software that helps you to view web pages that have been coded in html. Some examples of web browsers are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Google Chrome.

Web browsers open up the wonderful World Wide Web. They are the tools to help you explore Cyberspace, from something as simple as just grabbing information all the way to making a purchase of a natural latex mattress. You can look at web browsers as translators, because they take the html coded backlinks, text, and graphics, and put awesome life into them so they are readable and make sense.

The web browser allows you to "surf" the internet from one document to the next by either typing the URL (uniform resource locator) you want to navigate to into the address bar, or by clicking on backlinks to get you there.
