Blogger Competition: Terms and Conditions

Overview

In February 2012, Taptu announces a competition for bloggers to win a Taptu powered app using the Tapform platform on Android and iOS. The entrants blog names and logos may be used on Taptu owned websites and social media sites.Â This document describes the official requirements and rules of the competition.

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these contest rules. Â Violating any rule or not following instructions may eliminate participantsâ€™ eligibility. Taptu has the right to disqualify any entrant at any time at its sole discretion.

Eligibility

The competition is open to US and European citizens only. The competition is open to all ages. The competition is open only to bloggers or those contributing to a blog. The competition is not open to employees of Taptu or Manifest London, VSC or their immediate family members. Participants are permitted to enter as individual bloggers or as a blog team; however, only one (1) prize will be awarded per blog regardless of group size.

Submission Guidelines and How to Enter

The competition is open from 17.00 February 1, 2012 GMT and closes at 17.00 March 30^th, 2012 GMT. Â Late submissions will not be considered. Â The winners will be selected and notified no later than April 15th, 2012. Entrants must email contest@taptu.com with the full name(s) of the blogger(s), name of blog, url of blog, email address and telephone number. Taptu will send entrants a unique coded bit.ly link which will record the number of recommendations the blog influences to download and use Taptu on the phone or tablet. Entrants need to write a blog post and tell Taptu and their readers why they want to win the app, and why their readers would want the app of their blog. The bit.ly link must be used to encourage their readers to add Taptu to their smartphone or tablet so Taptu can track their success Entrants need to tweet a link to the blog post using @taptu and #taptucomp in the tweet so Taptu can RT and help bloggers with the hits! There is no fee to enter the contest.

Guidelines and Parameters

The purpose of this contest is to provide a blog with the opportunity to win their blog its own app. Taptu reserves the right to choose the winner based on the highest number of recommendations from the individual bit.ly links. There will be two winners to the competition â€“ one on the Android platform one on the iOS platform.

Intellectual Property

Entrants affirm their blog entries are their own original work, have not been copied from others or from previous entrants, and do not violate the intellectual property or copyrights of any other person or entity. Taptu reserves the right to use blog names/ logos / entries of any entry for promotional or business purposes in the future. If the winner is determined to have violated any rules, he/she will be required to forfeit or return the prize, even if the determination is made after the prize has been awarded.

Determination of Winner and Prize

The winning entries will be selected by the two highest numbers of recommendations via each individual bit.ly link. Both bloggers that recommend the highest number of Android referrals and iOS referrals will win that version of their blog as a Taptu powered app.Â The decision will be final and no further correspondence shall be entered into. The prize for the winning entry is one (1) Android Taptu powered application for their blog or one (1) iOS Taptu powered application for their blog. Only one prize per blog. If the same blog has the highest number of both Android and iOS recommendations â€“ they will win one version and the next runner up will be the second winner. Â This prize remains the same regardless of the size of the team submitting the winning entry. Â The prize cannot be exchanged for cash. The winner will be notified via email and announced on the Taptu Facebook and Twitter social media pages (http://www.facebook.com/mytaptu) (www.twitter.com/taptu) and possibly through other media. The competition is open to US and European bloggers and the winning app will only be available in: English, French, Spanish, Dutch or German. The prize apps will be developed within 8 weeks of the winners being notified, and be submitted to the AppStore and Android Market by Taptu. Taptu will pay for hosting of the app up to 50,000 downloads of each app. Beyond this point the winners can pay for the hosting and associated costs, or the apps will be removed from the stores.

Taptu is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries that are lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems. Taptu reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition and award the prize by alternate means if fraud or technical failure is determined at any time by Taptu, including after the submission window has closed. Taptu is not liable, for the purpose of winner and prize notification and delivery, in the event the contest winner has provided incorrect, outdated, or otherwise invalid contact information.
