Last week I showed you just how far $100 could go at Big W, when buying clothes for a preschooler.

Clothes not only need to look good for a preschooler, but they need to be durable and wash and wear well. To fully road test, or I should say grass test the clothes from Big W, we met the amazing photographer Rachel Devine at a wonderful nature park, where the littlest one could run, climb, crawl through dirt and grass, climb trees and play with big sticks.

All of which are some of his favourite things to do! Here is just a snap shot of our wonderful morning:

The little one is wearing a very cute printed long sleeve tee ($4.48). This photo was taken at the beginning before he was yet to warm up to his environment.

The long sleeve tee looked great teamed up with his $9 skinny jeans. And this is the very first photo on the blog of our beautiful new puppy – Lucas!

Starting to find his feet now and some bigger sticks!

A quick outfit change into grey jeans ($14.88) and a funky black and white long sleeve henly tee shirt ($7.96) and we were ready for more exploring.

The tree made the perfect little seat for him. The outfit looked gorgeous and it with held all the bumps, knocks and scratching that happens when kids play in trees.

We then found an even bigger stick!

All the clothes I bought allowed the little one to play and run around, including the skinny jeans ($9) and Bonds 3/4 sleeve tee ($13.92).

And run they did! Running, falling over, wrestling and having a great time together.

There was some fabulous tall grass and sprawling trees in one section of the park that was just perfect for playing hide and seek and then having a bit of a cuddle!

Well worn jeans
After all that, his jeans looked like this.

After the wash
Then after a quick burst of pre-wash spray, a cycle through the washing machine, clothes line and ironing, they looked like this – passing the little one’s grass test with flying colours!

Greek Rice Salad

Greek Rice Salad was another recipe I cooked for the first time last year for our Greek inspired Christmas menu plan. This recipe was a mix of a number I found on the interent. I deliberately made it pretty simple so it would be eaten by more of the kids and adults. It made two [...]
