The Conference

OggCamp 11 is a free two-day unconference (unscheduled conference) for anyone who loves anything related to technology, data, culture, community, open source...and more!

OggCamp11 has now happened and we're all recovering from an amazing weekend. We had a record 325 attendees this year so thank you to everyone who came along. You can find photos, links to blog posts, some videos and some slides on Lanyrd.

It would be great if all attendees could complete the CampFireManager feedback survey. CampFireManager (the system you used to propose and vote for talks) is an open source project and we can improve your experience for future years and other events if you can tell us what you did and didn't like about it.

[image]OggCamp11 will take place at the Farnham Maltings in Surrey, UK. As well as two unscheduled tracks (which will be arranged on the day), we have a full track of speakers, including:
Simon Phipps LornaJane Mitchell (careers in Open Source) Chris Gutteridge (Southampton OpenData project) Steve Lee (Accessibility) Wayne Myers (professional music production on Linux)
OggCamp is now in its third year and is steadily growing and attracting interesting people from all over the UK, the rest of Europe, and even the U.S.. As an unconference, we work out the speaker schedules on the first day, though, this year, we also have a scheduled track. Everyone is welcome to propose a talk for the unscheduled tracks, or you can just listen to other people. We strongly encourage everyone to do a talk if they can, though; it's a great way to meet people and get your ideas out there in a friendly environment.
[image]In previous years, we've had talks on digital image forensics (by Freakyclown), the House That Twitters (as seen on the BBC), voting and the different possible outcomes of the UK General Election, Mumbuntu (Ubuntu for your Mum), translating PlayStation games, and developing GUIs in Python and QT. We'll also have an exhibition including a number of community groups. On Saturday, O'Reilly will have a book stand and will be offering a 40% discount to attendees on the day. Pretty much something for everyone.

Admission is free, but please register at Eventbrite if you are planning to attend. That way we know roughly how many people to expect.

OggCamp11 is organised by Linux Outlaws and Ubuntu UK Podcast. If you're interested, you can read a bit about our history. And find out who this guy is:
