I don’t give a damn about you

As a new approach to writing I’ve decided that I do not give a damn about what you — the reader — want to read about. Interesting, huh? I’m taking this approach NOT because I don’t care about you as a person … but, because I’ve accepted a writing coach who suggested that I stop giving a damn about my reader. He said, “Write for yourself. Not your reader or editor or publisher”. So that’s what I’m doing.

This, then, is my first piece using this new approach.

And here’s why I don’t give a damn about what you want to read about. I’m not writing for you. Not on this blog, anyway. I’m writing for me. Because I enjoy it. And because writing relaxes me. It gives me the pure pleasure of expressing my mind.

Also, because I’m writing for myself I decide what I want to write about. And I decide whether to edit my writing or not. I don’t want to edit this piece. Editing bores me. This blog is a place for me to write not edit.

So there.
