A unique event is under development at the largest site of the Merry Network, My Merry Christmas.com, to be called The World’s Largest Christmas Party. The event is a 34-hour marathon of Christmas-themed contests, chats and online gatherings scheduled for December 11th, 2011.
“This really came about as a means of celebrating our 20th birthday at My Merry Christmas,” said Jeff Westover of Merry Network LLC. “As we talked about what we could do it was clear that what we needed to do wasn’t a birthday party but a massive Christmas party instead. My Merry Christmas has become the largest Christmas community online with many countries, languages and cultures involved. We wanted to find a way to include everyone.”
Designed to provide unqiue events in each time zone, The World’s Largest Christmas Party will focus on the hours of Noon to Midnight in each time zone on December 11th. During those hours a number of online-only features and events lauch:
– Chats & Workshops will be scheduled almost non-stop via ChristmasChatter.com to discuss everything from How to Make Eggnog to the Best Christmas Movies of All Time. Dozens of such events will be scheduled.
– Video, Photo and Essay Contest material on the theme of “Christmas Where You Live” will be released. Meant to showcase the diversity of Christmas celebration around the world these contests are designed to solicit user-submitted creations intended to share Christmas. Prize money will be awarded to contest winners.
– My Merry Christmas.com is compiling the Top 100 Christmas Songs of all time through user voting during the month of November 2011. These will be played via Merry Christmas Radio.com on two streams during the event.
