And the Oscar goes to
February 16, 2012 by Manuel Martensen | 1 Comment
German tv station NDR asked me about the parking situation in the Harz Mountains but they edited me down to a silly 2 seconds which makes me sound a little retarded. Anyhow, now that I’m a celebrity please leave me the fuck alone, no pictures.
My mistake, didn’t get the Oscar. Got a Razzie insead though.

Brocken, Harz Mountains
February 16, 2012 by Manuel Martensen | 1 Comment
Went to the Harz Mountains with me mate Jens over the weekend, but we were more into enjoying the snow than holding up a camera all the time, so this is the only footage we got.
Pretty slow ride but it shows how beautiful it was out there.

Lifeboat “Douglas Union Saturnâ€
January 9, 2012 by Manuel Martensen | 2 Comments
Guess the Douglas (or the Union Saturn, no idea if the name of the mothership goes on bow or stern) is one lifeboat shorter now. Or is this boat the remainder of a huge tragedy? Is there a high seas lost & found? Fun stuff.

The Art of “The Art of Flightâ€
December 24, 2011 by Manuel Martensen | 1 Comment
The Art of Flight by snowboarder Travis Rice and director Curt Morgan is by far the best snowboard movie out there. Hell, I will go even further: It’s the best snow sport related movie out there.
It goes way beyond of just showing cliff drops and sick corkscrewed tricks, the quality of the footage and the cinematography is breathtaking. This movie is and will be the technical standard for snow sport related productions for a looong time.
For anyone who is interested how creative director Chris Murphy did the connecting lines effect for the 3D text in the title sequence, check out this interview.
Also interesting, this video by the Creators Project about Curt Morgan, where they show you the awesomeness of the Cineflex and Phantom cameras (snow & wave).
And now a short “behind the scenesâ€. Make sure you get yourself a copy of the movie to watch the full making-of.
