What is becoming of our military?? Now this is getting a bit ridiculous...of course this comes following the new push to have women serve in ground combat troops, so it's no surprise, they want males wearing fake breasts and empathy bellies;next thing the Obama administrations military commanders will want are pregnant women in combat?? I guess to liberals it could be seen as another form of abortion if they are killed in combat??

In addition to these ridiculous changes to our military, Obama is cutting combat pay,wants to reduce our nuclear arsenal below Russia and China and he has already repealed "Don't Ask Don't Tell' which gives homosexuals the right to serve openly in the military. Why we needed this law repealed is unknown, but the military is turning into a mockery and social experiment under this administration. And then there is this news out that Secretary Napolitano Disrespects And Disarms Pilots.In the meantime our world is growing more dangerous and unstable.

USDA Inspectors begin visiting schools inspecting lunches #tcot #parents #kids

Yesterday a North Carolina pre-schooler's story made headlines when it was reported that an inspector replaced her home-made lunch with a school lunch considered more healthy.

RAEFORD, N.C. — A Hoke County preschooler was fed chicken nuggets for lunch because a state worker felt that her homemade lunch did not have enough nutritional value, according to a report by the Carolina Journal.

The West Hoke Elementary School student was in her More at Four classroom when a state employee who was inspecting lunch boxes decided that her packed lunch — which consisted of a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice and potato chips — “did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines,” the Journal reports.

Today I came across a similar story, which says USDA workers are going into schools and not only inspecting the food quality but tasting it? How much is this new program costing the taxpayers to bring in chefs to improve school lunches? While I am grateful my kids lunch is well prepared&healthy do we really need federal inspectors coming in to scrutinize them, and replace a home-made lunch if they think it is not nutritious enough? Most of these lunches will go to waste either way, as the little girl only ended up eating three nuggets and still didn't eat the home-made lunch or the rest of the school lunch.

Audrey Rowe is visiting schools all over the nation. “Everything we can do.. to make food taste good,” Rowe told students at Elkhorn Middle School in Frankfort on Wednesday.

The USDA official from Washington, DC got a first-hand look…and taste of school lunches in Kentucky.

“I think we can make it to where one day you’ll say ‘that lady was here and I like this food now.’That’s what I’m working on,” she said.

Taylor Boggs ate lunch with Rowe, who’s worked directly with President Obama on school lunch legislation.

“She really listened to what I said about the food,” said Boggs, an 8th grader at Elkhorn .

“Usually for students, if they don’t have a good lunch, sometime around mid-afternoon, they get sluggish, start having issues,” said Rowe, who says she visited the school in-between several meetings with officials in Kentucky.

Rowe says the bottom line is that school lunches today are going to be a lot different next year.

8th graders say their meals are pretty good, but some days…. “It’s really greasy…and not fresh,” said Boggs.

Rowe says some districts have brought in chefs in to make changes.

“A few weeks ago Rachel Ray made lunch in one of the schools I was in, she made turkey tacos,” she said.

Elkhorn Middle School was given the thumbs up for already serving fat free milk and whole grain buns.

“I’m really pleased with what I see here in Kentucky. Other school districts are not as far along,” Rowe said.

Rowe says the new laws will not just change what is served in cafeterias, but what is allowed in vending machines and other areas of the school.

The Santorum Surge Is Real-NOT the Flavor of the Month #tcot #prolife

I have been asked to put a post together regarding the latest polling in favor of my chosen 2012 candidate, Rick Santorum, and why I believe he is the best candidate running in the Presidential race for 2012.

Here is what I have come up with over a few days research. I have become stronger in my convictions that Santorum is indeed the best hope for renewing our country and bringing conservative morals and family values back to our country, along with respect for faith, freedom and our founding documents.

Newt Gingrich has been very bold in his ideas and outspoken against the media and his other opponents. However, it is time for Grandpa Newt to step down, deflate his ego and hand the 'Reagan torch' to Santorum, a man of strong faith, conviction, principles,&family.

While I can forgive the sins and mistakes of Newt's personal past, I do not forgive the sin and the damage to his core character. Not only is Newt's character damaged,but his principles are not core conservative beliefs. Newt has admitted he is a 'conservative futurist'; his support of globalist ideas makes him untrustworthy for President of the United States.[POTUS]

In 1995 Newt made a formal appeal to the House of Representatives to "increase the power of President Clinton" by repealing the War Powers Act. He praised Clinton's unconstitutional use of the U.S. military to inflict a communist regime on Haiti in 1994, the same year he voted for an extra $1.2 billion for United Nations "peacekeeping" missions.

He also urged the President to expand U.S. military presence in Bosnia the following year. In 1994, Gingrich described himself as "a conservative futurist." He said that those who were trying to define him should look no further than The Third Wave, a 1980 book written by Alvin Toffler. The book describes our society as entering a post-industrial phase in which abortion, homosexuality, promiscuity, and divorce are perfectly normal, even virtuous.

Gingrich's liberal voting record is that he has been a member, since 1990, of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a group founded in 1921 as a think tank of influential politicians and policymakers dedicated to sacrificing national independence to create a global government. He showed his fidelity to internationalism in a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Affairs in July of 1995 when he brazenly admitted his disdain for our founding document.

"The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution," he said. "Under our [constitutional system] - either we're going to have to rethink our Constitution, or we're going to have to rethink our process of decision-making." He went on to profess an oxymoronic belief in "very strong but limited federal government," and pledged, "I am for the United Nations."

These are just some of the reasons I do not trust Newt Gingrich as our next President,but I also can't trust a man with our country who took an oath to God and his wives to remain loyal&faithful. If he couldn't remain loyal and faithful to his wives and God;how long will he stay loyal to our country and our founding documents? This article entitled "‘Newt’worthy or Not? Is Newt Gingrich the Best Candidate for President in the Republican Primary" goes further into detail of the 'progressive movement' which Newt Gingrich is a part of as part of the 'establishment GOP' and member of the CFR.

As discussed, “The strategy of [the]Progressive Establishment has always been to get the two most liberal candidates, one from each political Party nominated in their respected primaries, and then to promote the most progressive of those two candidates in the general election!”

In result, I can't 'marry'/entrust Gingrich to our country because I wouldn't marry someone with his character flaws. I can forgive the sinner,but not the sin. However, forgiveness does not equate to voting for someone with such great moral character flaws, who also supports a globalist agenda, which endangers US sovereignty and leads us away from the principles this country was founded on: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

In contrast, Rick Santorum supports defunding the UN,which would be a great step in the right direction for the US. Santorum also has strong morals and values which this country was founded on. He has been faithfully married to his wife and raised seven children together, while serving his state of Pennsylvania as a Congressman and Senator. Santorum best represents faith, family and freedom and recognizes that our Creator is the reason we have unalienable rights, not the government. Santorum recently stated,“Our rights come not from government, but from a higher authority". I wrote further about these character traits and his convictions here.

As of February 15, 2012, Obama runs slightly ahead of Mitt Romney and dead even with Rick Santorum in Rasmussen Reports’at the key battleground state of Ohio.

In addition, according to recent Public Policy Polling, if Gingrich dropped out 58% of his supporters say they would move to Santorum, while 22% would go to Romney and 17% to Paul.

A recent Fox News poll also indicates a Santorum surge:

Santorum: 33%
Romney: 23%
Gingrich: 22%
Paul: 15%

Also, Public Policy Polling, a left leaning polling agency, finds Santorum gets a majority of Tea Party voters as well at 51% to 24% for Gingrich and 12% for Romney. And with Evangelicals Santorum falls just short of a majority with 45% to 21% for Gingrich and 18% for Romney. Part of the reason for Santorum’s surge is his own high level of popularity. 64% of voters see him favorably to only 22% with a negative one. But the other, and maybe more important, reason is that Republicans are significantly souring on both Romney and Gingrich. While Gingrich only holds 44% favorability with a plurality of GOP voters. As explained in this article at National Review Online:

At the moment Rick Santorum appears to be overtaking Newt Gingrich as the principal challenger to Mitt Romney. Santorum has won more contests than Gingrich (who has won only one), has more delegates, and leads him in the polls. In at least one poll, he also leads Romney. It isn’t yet a Romney–Santorum contest, but it could be headed that way.

We hope so. Gingrich’s verbal and intellectual talents should make him a resource for any future Republican president. But it would be a grave mistake for the party to make someone with such poor judgment and persistent unpopularity its presidential nominee. It is not clear whether Gingrich remains in the race because he still believes he could become president next year or because he wants to avenge his wounded pride: an ambiguity that suggests the problem with him as a leader.

When he led Santorum in the polls, he urged the Pennsylvanian to leave the race. On his own arguments the proper course for him now is to endorse Santorum and exit.

Santorum has been conducting himself rather impressively in his moments of triumph and avoiding characteristic temptations. He is doing his best to keep the press from dismissing him as merely a “social-issues candidate.” His recent remark that losing his Senate seat in 2006 taught him the importance of humility suggests an appealing self-awareness.

As for those who criticize Santorum on his fiscal conservatism and voting record, he has been known to oppose the banking bailouts,stimulus and he opposed TARP. In 2008 Santorum said this about TARP:

"Among critics of the bill was Mr. Casey’s predecessor, Republican Rick Santorum, who expressed doubt about the government’s suitability as a market stabilizer. He wanted to see a hybrid of both limited government purchase of the troubled investments, and a series of loan guarantees that would let the private market do the work."

In addition to being critical of President Obama and his administration, in 2009 Santorum was also pretty tough on his former Republican colleagues. He chastised Republicans for passing the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). He said that he prayed that Sen. John McCain would suspend his campaign to go back to Washington to blow up the idea, something Santorum admitted McCain was good at. Yet McCain supported it, which Santorum believes lead to his defeat.

In addition to opposing TARP,Santorum wanted to reign in Fannie&Freddie to avoid the credit crisis and recession we are in now, which would have prevented TARP and the bailouts becoming a last resort:

In 2005 Santorum along with Crapo and Bunning were on the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee and had voted in favor of sending a Fannie&Freddie regulatory overhaul bill, sponsored by Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb to the Senate.

At CPAC in 2009, Santorum admits conservatives made mistakes and this lead to his defeat in Pennsylvania in 2006, along with McCain's in 2008. The Iraq war was becoming unpopular, in addition to President Bush. However, in February 2009, at a time when many “conservatives” couldn’t find the moxy to unequivocally condemn TARP….Santorum did exactly that at CPAC 2009. see video at 3:05 – 4:10.

Finally, the Club for Growth states Santorum has a strong record on cutting taxes, and that his leadership on welfare reform and Social Security was exemplary.

Santorum has consistently supported broad-based tax cuts&opposed tax increases with a Club for Growth rating 77% above average.

Club for Growth:Santorum opposed TARP,the stimulus ,the auto bailout,&the Fannie-Freddie bailout.

Club for Growth-Santorum:voted for a balanced budget amendment and a line-item veto in 1995.

Santorum endorsed Conservative Tea Party candidate Doug Hoffman over liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava.[while Newt supported Dede]

In regards to those who criticize Rick Santorum for supporting Arlen Specter against Toomey in 2008, here is his motive behind that:

Santorum-helped keep senate majority in 2004, because Pat Toomey was likely to lose the general election for Senate if he beat Specter in the primary;&because President Bush lost in PA,Santorum strategically backed the candidate most likely to win, Arlen Specter, by agreeing to a deal to elect Conservative Justices Alito&Roberts to the Supreme Court.

Others criticize Santorum for voting against a national right to work law. However, Rick Santorum voted in favor of letting states decide on right-to-work laws; since PA was a non-right to work state at the time, indicating his respect for the 10th amendment in such matters.

In conclusion, as Gingrich struggles,Santorum's campaign is gaining Gingrich supporters who are switching to Santorum’s team as volunteers.

Recently, the casino billionaire who has donated to Gingrich has cut support. Which indicates Gingrich is also losing support among donors and conservatives. His votes will likely go to Santorum,while the funding could go to Romney? As poll trends indicate, if Gingrich dropped out 58% of his supporters say they would move to Santorum, while 22% would go to Romney and 17% to Paul. But, as Santorum proved in CO, where Romney campaigned a lot and spent much more on ads, money doesn't always buy voters, but substance and character counts.

PPP:64% of voters favorably view Santorum over Gingrich and other candidates.

PPP recently tweeted:a consensus conservative candidate finally seems to be emerging and it's Santorum.

Additionally, regarding electability Santorum Can Also Beat Romney: polls show Santorum has a better chance than Gingrich at winning against current front runner Romney. The latest Rasmussen Poll shows Santorum now trounces Romney 55% to 34% in a one-on-one matchup nationally among likely GOP primary voters;proving he has electability along with a growing consensus of conservative support.

Conservatives are recognizing Gingrich's personal failings and negative favorability ratings among conservatives are not enough to make him the anti-Romney candidate. In result, Santorum has less baggage&is much better liked.

Santorum is now completely dominating with several key segments of the electorate, especially the most right leaning parts of the party. With those describing themselves as 'very conservative,' he's now winning a majority of voters at 53% to 20% for Gingrich and 15% for Romney.

Santorum gets a majority with Tea Party voters as well at 51% to 24% for Gingrich and 12% for Romney. And with Evangelicals he falls just short of a majority with 45% to 21% for Gingrich and 18% for Romney.

In the most recent polls, Santorum is gaining on Romney and Gingrich is falling. While polls can be up and down like the stock market, it is becoming more clear who the majority of conservatives are leaning towards, and that is Santorum. I have found this true in reading conservative blogs, tweets and other news commentary online.

According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll:

Among Republicans -- and independents -- Santorum now rivals former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney on this most basic measure of popularity. Santorum now has the lead among those who consider themselves to be “very conservative.”

The latest CBS Poll indicates:

Santorum is also seen as the candidate most likely to help the middle class: Thirty-two percent of GOP primary voters say Santorum would be most likely to help middle class Americans, while 19 percent cite Romney, 18 percent cite Gingrich and 18 percent cite Paul. Twenty-seven percent are "very" confident Santorum could manage the economy, compared to 25 percent for Romney, 24 percent for Gingrich and 17 percent for Paul.

Endorsements:

The list of conservative leaders from political, media and religious arenas who support Rick Santorum continues to grow. They are calling on America to help elect a proven champion of conservative values.

Conservative Headquarters, Richard Viguerie, also endorsed Rick Santorum last month. He gives his strong endorsement in this article, entitled: "I urge you to join me in supporting Rick Santorum for President."

While other well known conservative pundits and talk radio hosts have officially endorsed Rick Santorum, others like Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh have said positive remarks about him. Including, conservative talk show host, Mark Levine,who recently made the case for Rick Santorum as GOP nominee

Lastly, Santorum's fiscal conservative credentials are not as bad as some like to make him out to be, as he has received an A- from the National Taxpayers Union, an independent, non-partisan organization that has been rating members of Congress for the past 20yrs.

Hooking Kids on Sex-The Goal of Planned Parenthood #parents #kids #prolife #tcot

This video shows examples of some of the ways Planned Parenthood exposes vulnerable young minds to sex. They encourage masturbation and teach them through graphic images and advertising that sex is something to enjoy as if it is safe and acceptable behavior for teens and unmarried young adults to engage in. This is not the sort of sex education children and young adults need. They need to be taught that their body should be respected and their virginity should be saved for someone they truly love and marry. Imagine giving the ultimate gift of your virginity on your wedding night rather than feeling like you have nothing sacred to offer. Why shouldn't teens be encouraged to abstain and save themselves for marriage? What is so wrong and inappropriate about teaching our kids self-respect and dignity?

So many teens and young adults give into peer pressure and advertising and promotional material like the information Planned Parenthood is selling our kids is not teaching responsibility but irresponsibility and lustful behavior. This kind of behavior leads to increased risk of pregnancy,sexually transmitted diseases and emotions they are unable to deal with productively, without turning to promiscuity,drugs or alcohol. It's not about practicing religious morals and beliefs, it's about respecting yourself enough to wait until marriage to share the ultimate bond and gift you can give your spouse.

Sex before marriage takes all the surprises away and just makes you another sex partner in your spouse's list of lovers. Sure you get married for love, but love doesn't equate to sex. Don't you want to be their first and only true love?? You shouldn't have sex before your married because you think you love someone;you should wait for marriage until you KNOW you love someone and they love you equally back enough to marry you and commit their life to you.

Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman that should be considered unbreakable, not something you try and see if it works out. It's a lifetime commitment to love one person for the rest of your life, raise a family together, enjoy the ups and downs of raising children and having the determination to work together and strengthen your relationship. Marriage also protects you and your children from the risks of std's, unwanted pregnancies and single parenthood, creating stronger families and healthier relationships. [UPDATE:Not to mention, a healthy family and a healthy marriage create a healthy economy for future generations. This is one of the reasons I support Rick Santorum, he sees the value in strong families which creates strong economies. As twitter friend @mba4life shared with me yesterday, it cost $25 billion to do 55 million abortions, but the hidden cost is $45 TRILLION in lost GDP.]

Sure not all marriages work out no matter how hard you try, especially in cases where drugs, alcohol, infidelity or abuse come between you, but all marriages deserve a clean start. One which has the goal of making it work til death do you part and one that shows your commitment to that person is so real that you are willing to save your most precious innocence with them.

Parents and adults, especially those in the business of working with teens or young adults should be encouraging and teaching this kind of behavior, not exploiting our children to sex and making sex appeal as a safe and fun thing to do because others are doing it. Just because someone else is doing it or Planned Parenthood makes it look like it is fun and safe if you wear a condom or pop a pill each day doesn't mean you are going to be safe from std's, an unexpected pregnancy and the risks involved with that, including abortion.

Planned Parenthood wants to make you think they have you covered, they want you to have sex and take the risks. If you didn't they wouldn't be in business. Their number one service is providing abortions. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States, Planned Parenthood did 329,445 abortions in 2010 while it provided prenatal care to only 31,098 women and referred only 841 women to adoption agencies while making billions of dollars off of taxpayers and vulnerable, low-income women. It's time to be smarter than they think you are and protect yourself the best way you know how and that means save yourself for marriage and don't take the risks of unplanned pregnancy or std's.

Contraceptives and condoms won't protect your from these things, if they did their wouldn't be over 3000 abortions per day in the United States. It's not that these items aren't easily available to use, it's that not everyone uses them consistently, properly or at all and even if you do use them consistently or as instructed they are still not guaranteed to prevent std's and unwanted pregnancy. Be smart and take care of YOU! Don't let anyone tell you sex is fun and safe, it's not! Pre-marital sex is the most dangerous form of sex for both men and women!

Lancet Oncology Study:Chemotherapy safe for pregnant women #prolife #tcot #health

The medical journal The Lancet came out with a new research study confirms that pregnant women with breast cancer can give birth safely all three trimesters, without having to terminate/abort the pregnancy. Chemotherapy is considered safe because most termination does not improve a woman's chance of surviving cancer and most women don't get diagnosed with breast cancer until late in the pregnancy or after giving birth. According to the study:

Pregnant women with breast cancer can give birth safely even if they are having chemotherapy, according to new research. It is not necessary to deliver the baby early or delay treatment, said doctors writing in The Lancet medical journal.

Women are instead advised to aim to have a normal length pregnancy, because in most cases the cancer can still be treated with both chemo and surgery, said the report.

Terminating the pregnancy does not appear to improve a woman's chance of surviving the disease, it added. In the UK, 5,000 women of reproductive age are affected by breast cancer every year.

Of all cases diagnosed in women aged 30 or under, 10 to 20 per cent take place during pregnancy or in the first year after a birth.

Breast cancer in pregnant women is generally diagnosed later than usual, the report said, because symptoms are obscured by expected changes to the body such as an increase in cup-size.

It said chemotherapy could be safely given in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and, in general, surgery was safe during any of the three trimesters.

A study in The Lancet Oncology backed up the claims, saying children exposed to chemotherapy in the womb developed just as well as those born to healthy women.

Frederic Amant a doctor from Belgium's Leuven Cancer Institute who worked on The Lancet report, said: 'The new insights we gained during our research facilitate cancer treatment and provide hope for mother and child in most cases.

'Most mothers feel stronger and are even more motivated to undergo the cancer treatment and its side effects, since she is fighting for her child as well.'

But Dr Amant admitted that breast cancer in pregnancy 'remains challenging' because in some situations advanced cancer can lead to death of mother and baby.

'Sometimes the woman's partner declares that they feel unable to raise the child in case the mother would not survive her cancer, and termination of pregnancy is opted for.

'In other situations,' he added, 'we were able to save the child though we lost the mother immediately after the delivery - for example by keeping her alive with a terminal brain tumour.

Although, the new study confirms, chemotherapy was not recommended in the first trimester because of a higher risk of harm to the baby, it was safe from the second trimester. However, according to the study:

'There is no evidence for an increased rate of second-trimester miscarriage or fetal growth restriction, organ dysfunction or long-term adverse outcome with the use of chemotherapy,' the guidelines say.

They add that most women could go to full-term and have a normal or induced delivery.

Kim Hardwick, senior cancer information nurse at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: 'Cancer during pregnancy is thankfully a rare occurrence.

This is great news for women who have a history of cancer in their family or find themselves diagnosed with cancer while pregnant. Sadly, I wonder how many women have been told to abort because of breast cancer or other cancers? This study gives more reason to believe women are better off letting nature take it's course with the pregnancy and to treat the illness rather than the pregnancy as a disease. Sadly, too many women treat their pregnancy as a problem or disease and terminate their pregnancy rather than treating the disease or the problem.
