This pretty gumdrop rose is easy enough for children to do. The bud is a rolled-out, rolled-up gumdrop; stem and leaves are rolled-out, shaped gumdrops. It makes a very nice cupcake topper.
To make the rose, begin by rolling the gumdrops very thin on sugar covered board until each is bigger than a 1 1/4 inch round cutter.
With cutter, cut the rolled pieces into rounds. The rose above was made with orange, pink, and green gumdrops.
Fit the gumdrop rounds together, pinching at center until they stick. Shape petals, curving down outer ones. Trim.
