IM+ gets pushy on the iPhone

I have been looking forward to push notifications on the iPhone ever since they were first announced.  I knew that programs like instant messaging on the iPhone would be truly usable then, because you wouldn’t have to “sign out” to do something like check an email or make a call.  It was a long wait, but the app I have been waiting to get push notifications FINALLY got the App Store Update tonight! IM+ 3.1 is live and it is …

My iPhone 3.0 Favorites

After almost two full days with the new iPhone 3.0 software, there are a handful of  things that stand out for me as clearly AWESOME…things I wish had been a part of the iPhone OS since the beginning (or at least the introduction of the iPhone 3G). 1) Copying multiple photos from the Camera Roll to email. This is so freaking handy, especially when I use my iPhone to take snaps of something I am reviewing, or a series of …

Scrobble from the iPhone – without a jailbreak!

One of the main reasons I wanted to jailbreak my iPhone was to be able to scrobble the tracks I played on my iPod to my last.fm account.  I really love last.fm, both for the radio features and just to have a history of what I’ve been listening to.  I like to track my habits, “love” certain songs in last.fm to remember them, and discover new music by playing artist stations (in a similar manner to how I use Pandora).  …

Pocket Informant 1.0 hits the App Store!

Staying up past my bedtime occasionally has its benefits…I was about to go to sleep when I received an email from WebIS that my long-awaited holy grail calendar and to-do app, Pocket Informant, had finally been accepted by Apple and released to the App Store. Thank you, three hour nap! I am so happy that I was awake.  I have been waiting for this app since I got my iPhone 3G at the end of August. Needless to say, I …

31 Days to 3G iPhone – Day 30: My Biggest iPhone Disappointment

Not to be a downer, but there’s one thing I just don’t like about the iPhone OS. On my Windows Mobile phone, I have a tendency to keep open a lot of programs–my email, an eBook in the reader software, Pocket Informant with my calendar and tasks, Tiny Twitter (a great WM Twitter program!), and sometimes a few others. If I’m stuck somewhere with nothing to do, I’ll usually have my IM program pulled up in the background in case …

My Must-Install iPhone Apps

After a long, hard look at a number of VERY expensive Windows Mobile phones, and waiting with bated breath for the announcement of the iPhone 3G, my husband and I have finally made the decision to move to AT&T and get a couple of white 16GB iPhones. The one catch is that we have to wait until the end of August for our contract with T-Mobile to expire. I’ve been very happy with my cellular service on the T-Mobile network, …
