This week was a busy one for us!
From a car accident to an awesome date with my husband our week was full of excitement.
I mentioned in last week’s post that we didn’t have a big event yet, and wondered how I would handle that in my Project Life layouts.
Well, this week my Valentine’s date with my husband on Saturday evening qualified as a big event that I wanted to set apart in a special way within Project Life.
I decided to scrap a 6 x 12 layout (with a template by Cindy Schineder) and include it as an insert between my two pages for this week. I found some 6 x 12 page protectors that I’m going to use for this on Amazon. With printing, I’ll place two 6 x 12 layouts together to make a 12 x 12 and then cut it down the middle. I already know I’ll be doing another 6 x 12 insert for our trip to the circus this upcoming weekend.
Also, I really was able to get into a good workflow with creating my layouts yesterday. I like using different kits each wee and using the papers from that kit to create my own journaling cards. This does work best with larger kits, though. This week I used the Love and Grace charity collab from The LilyPad.

Sunday – I cooked a big dinner Sunday evening and finished it off with a Pepperidge Farm 3-layer cake. These are the box cakes that you can get in the freezer section of the grocery store. It reminded me of when my husband was a pastor and we had people from the church over for dinner. I often served one of these simple cakes. I would never serve that to guests now, but they never seemed to mind! It is a great reminder of the importance of hospitality.

Monday is our library day. Everyone (including Jenny) was excited about checking out new books. We almost always follow our library visit with a stop by happy hour at Sonic.

Tuesday – We were in a car accident on our way to dance class. I am so very thankful that we were all safe. My girls were with me, but Will and Jenny were with my husband. Unfortunately, we will be without our van for a while. But vans can be repaired and replaced, my people can’t!

Wednesday – I love how excited my girls get over the smallest things. They found a ladybug on Wednesday morning and were fascinated with it. I also love their creativity. MC made a “home†for the ladybug from a Halloween bucket.

Thursday – It’s not often that Will is happy with my meal offerings. But I hit a home run when I made these chocolate frosted doughnuts for breakfast. He quickly declared them to be a favorite!

Friday – My husband took some great pictures of Will and Jenny together while I was away at a doctor’s appointment. I just love to see these two interact. I’m so happy that they are such good friends! They really do adore one another.

Saturday – We’ve had a fairly mind winter this year. So we were very surprised when we had a thunder snow storm on Saturday afternoon. The snow and ice came down hard and fast, but it was very short lived.

Also on Saturday, my mom was visiting so Keith and I decided to get out for a Valentine’s date. We had the best time! We went to a Burgers & Fries restaurant and then to a historic downtown theater. For the Saturday evening showings, there is an organ player. It actually rises from the orchestra pit. He ended his performance with having everyone join in with “Take Me Out to the Ball Gameâ€. We saw the Muppet Movie…so much fun!!

Now, let’s look at my layouts for this week.

What a great week!!
I absolutely love doing Project Life this year. It has been so much fun to pull memories from our everyday moments and put them on paper to remember and cherish forever.
I have also gotten so many ideas and inspiration from other Project Lifers, so thank you for joining me for this each week!
